This set of dashboards displays an overview of demographics for Chicago Police Department (CPD) active sworn members that are assigned to a District Unit, e.g. District 001 – Central or District 007 – Englewood. This dashboard excludes non-District CPD units, e.g. 044 – Recruit Training Section or 055 – Mounted Unit. To see members from non-District units or view Title information, see our “Unit and Month” or “Unit and Title” dashboards.
Data Sources: Census data, CPD databases, and Chicago Integrated Personnel and Payroll System (ChIPPS). The census data shows the five year population estimates from 2017. CPD and ChIPPS records begin August 2017 and the data is refreshed during the first week of each month. Data is current through the date of last update (listed at the top of the dashboards). In 2012, certain CPD Districts were consolidated which resulted in the closing of Districts 13, 21, and 23.
