Administrative Notice of Violation (ANOV)

A citation/ticket issued by a Chicago police officer, inspector or investigator from a City department for an alleged ordiance violation. When issued by a Chicago police officer, it is done in lieu of physical arrest. The ANOV also includes the date, time, and location of the offense, identity of person named, with details to support the allegation. Contested ANOVs are adjudicated through administrative hearing.
